Harlech
By 1975, Harlech had the only passing loop and signal box between Barmouth and Porthmadog. Taken in August 1975 and 1976, these views show the DMUs on service trains in glorious Welsh weather.
A Park Royal dmu approaches Harlech on the 16:20 from Machynlleth to Pwllheli, due in Harlech at 17:48. August 1975.
A few minutes later, a BR Derby dmu leads the 17:07 Pwllheli to Machynlleth, which left Harlech at 17:52, having crossed the previous working in the station loop. This train conveyed Mails from Barmouth to Machynlleth, where it connected with the 18:30 from Aberystwyth to York, in its last summer of operation.
A year later, and a Metro Cammell DMU is seen departing from Harlech on a working to Machynlleth. The train is showing the correct B2 headcode for this route. 19th August 1976.
An afternoon working to Pwllheli is seen in the station on 20th August 1976.
