Cambrian Coast
The other North Wales Coast railway, the Cambrian coast line ran from Dovey (now Dyfi) Junction near Machynlleth to Pwllheli. Once connected to other lines at Barmouth and Afonwen, by the mid 70s it was a long 'cul-de-sac' worked by DMUs from Chester depot, but still fully signalled, with boxes at Tywyn, Barmouth, Harlech, Porthmadog and 2 at Pwllheli.
